You may also end up with a new lover but if that doesn't work, you could meet someone who became good friends and who knows she will introduce you. Keep your options open.
Once you have exchanged glances and smiled in a room and you are fairly confident that SHE thinks that she might want to know you better, send her a drink. But remember that, you only buy a drink. Don't expect her to fall at your feet. Sometimes it is good to send someone a drink, seeing as she accepted it and smiled, then turned - look back again to show your interest.
If you are invited to her table, make your mind is still thinking the conversation and not on getting a date with her. Most women want to know what kind of person who would go out with her before they actually go out with them. Make an effort to get to know her and give her a chance to get to know you before asking for a date.
